BOISE — The Lady Badgers, the runner-up in the 4A District 1-2 tournament, fell to the Lady Beavers in a state play-in match at Timberline High.

Bonners Ferry officially finished the season with a 10-9 record. Head coach Emily Winebark had nothing but great things to say about her team, which lost nine seniors to graduation last year and fielded a very young team this season.

Winebark noted strong play from junior Alexys Mierke, who had a team-high eight assists and contributed 10 goals, sophomore center defender Addison Lucas, senior midfielder Lena Teele, who recorded five goals, and junior goalkeeper Hallie Thompson. Winebark also mentioned how juniors Maddie Hart (13 goals), Ocka Stroemer (13), senior Brooke Petesch (4), and sophomore Nolie Hiatt (7) were all big time scoring threats this season.

POST FALLS — In the 4A Intermountain League title match at The Real Life Fields, senior Eli Blackmore scored a goal and sophomore Cardon Pluid made three saves in between the posts for the No. 2 Badgers, which fell by a two-goal margin to the No. 1 Panthers.

Bridger Crawford, Owen Sharp, and Brooks Judd all had goals for Coeur d'Alene Charter. Due to a seven team league field, the Badgers automatically clinched a 4A state berth when they defeated Grangeville 2-0 in the semifinals.

No. 6 Bonners Ferry (13-5-1) will face No. 3 Teton in the first round of the state tournament today at The Real Life Fields in Post Falls.
