PREP FOOTBALL: Badgers close out season with loss to Timberlake

BONNERS FERRY — Junior Keenan Maas amassed 149 rushing yards on 25 carries, junior Conrad Hiatt recorded a team-high 11 tackles as the host Badgers fell to the visiting Tigers in their regular season and 4A Intermountain League finale on Friday at Bonners Ferry High.
Timberlake scored 14 points in the first quarter and eight in the second while the Badgers scored their lone touchdown of the game off a Brody Rice rushing touchdown in the second. Neither team scored a single point in the second half.
On offense, in addition to Maas' 149 yards, Hiatt ran the ball eight times for 31 yards and Rice, a senior, five times for 10 yards. Under center, Rice was 5-for-20 passing for 88 yards. Hiatt also caught two passes for 48 yards while sophomore Cooper Higgins hauled in two catches for 36 yards.
On defense, Maas, junior Sulay Abubakari, and junior Daric Vincent all had tackles for losses while Hiatt added a sack for a 5-yard loss, senior Thomas Hoggan a sack for an 8-yard loss. Junior Giovanni Faraoni picked off his first pass of his varsity career. Vincent, Rice, and junior Devin Sceppe all had six tackles each, sophomore Jake Solt five tackles for Bonners Ferry, which officially finished the season 4-5 and third in the 4A Intermountain League.
