Lewd case dismissed as victim has died

BONNERS FERRY — A lewd conduct case has been dismissed due to the death of the alleged victim.  

Kevin R. Alyea, 50, of Troy, Mont., was charged with two counts of lewd conduct upon a then-9-year-old. A three-day jury trial was set for the beginning of October, but on August 27, the Boundary County Prosecutor made a motion that the case be dismissed, as the child had died.  

Later that day the case was officially dismissed at District Lamont C. Berecz signed the motion.
