HOMECOMING: Badgers fall to Crusaders
BONNERS FERRY — Badger Homecoming saw a great spectator turnout, as the visiting Northwest Christian Crusaders (2-0) won 48-8.
The Crusaders led in the first quarter with two touchdowns. The Crusaders led 34-0 at halftime.
The Badger held the Crusaders in the third and senior quarterback Brody Rice rushed for a touchdown and junior receiver Sulay Abubakari scored a two-point conversion, but it wasn’t enough.
The Crusaders came into the fourth and scored another 14 points, winning 48-8. The Badgers are 1-3 and will face Lakeside (1-1) in Nine Mile Falls, WA on Friday.
Senior QB Brody Rice was seven for 16 for 102 yards and sophomore QB Alex Stolley was one for four for 12 yards. Keenan Maas led the Badgers with 14 carries for 65 yards, and was three for 18 in receptions.
In receptions, Conrad Hiatt added 63 yards on two and Sulay Abubakari added 26 yards on two catches.
Bonners Ferry head coach Danny Swift said that at the end of the day you either lose or win games, but its a reminder that their are bigger things in life than football.
“We have never played a classier team” he said about the Crusaders from Colbert, WA.
“Keenan Maas has an amazing game,” Swift said about the linebacker who nabbed four key tackles and rushed 65 yards against the Crusaders.
He added despite the score he is proud of the team and that they are fighting to get better every day.
