New traditions started at BFHS Homecoming
BONNERS FERRY— Another Bonners Ferry High School Homecoming is in the books, as the Badger pride extended beyond the school halls and into the community with a new tradition.
This year local businesses were invited to participate in a Homecoming decoration contest with ASB acting as judges. Two Brews Coffee Co. won the contest as they decorated their lawn as a football stadium and had a Badger football pride poster.
When the judges came by, all Two Brews employees had Badger shirts, foam fingers and acted out a dance and cheer stunt routine, owners Jessica Stolley and Kailey Gardin said.
BFHS plans to continue the decoration contest with businesses and each year a trophy will be passed from winner to winner.
Homecoming King and Queen were Makeen Loretto and Syndey Hinthorn. Senior royalty included Jesse Fee and Lilly Krejci. The Seniors won the Homecoming contest overall.
At Powderpuff football the sophomores ran the field and walked away victorious. In the post game interview, coach Alex Stolley said the team had great team chemistry.
"Last year we fell short to the seniors, we wanted revenge," he said. "We showed what we had and ran all over the field."
Jacob Solt said they scouted the seniors and took advantage on match ups.
Taylor Dodd said the Class of 2027 looks strong and is looking to clean up next year.
The sophomores were half joking when discussing a summer training camp and tracking nutrition and protein intact for athletes competing in Powderpuff 2025.
