Paint n’ Sip with Surely You Can Paint

Those in the mood for an artistic evening are in luck. Surely You Can Paint is hosting a paint-and-sip event at Mugsy’s Tavern & Grill on Saturday, Sept. 21. The event begins at 5 p.m.  

Surely You Can Paint was created by Shirley Mitchell, who started doing the paint nights two years ago as a way to bring inexpensive fun to the community.  

“My mom used to love to paint, and she passed away 13 years ago.” Mitchell said about how she got into painting. “One day out of the blue, I felt like painting and picked up supplies to try ... I felt my mom's presence with me and through my hands as I painted. It was so nice.” 

A friend then asked her to teach her to paint and then, Mitchell said a group asked her to hold a paint night for them, which she did. 

“And it just snowballed after that. I am so grateful for each class and to be doing what I love and watching others creativity grow,” she added.
