BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers held Priest River (3-3) scoreless on Monday and went on a 6-0 run.

Nikita “Nik” Rawson scored in the first 30 seconds for the Badgers, followed by another swift goal by Logan Archibald.

At 20 minutes, Eli Blackmore landed a shot in the upper right corner of the net.

Archibald and Rawson had two goal apiece, with Rawson scoring a deep goal off an indirect kick.

For Priest River junior goalkeeper Baylor White had 14 saves and Bonners Ferry keeper, Cardon Pluid had three saves.

Bonners Ferry head coach Paul Bonnell said playing Priest River at home was different, especially since at home the Badgers can play on a full field and utilize space.

“I felt like we controlled the pace of the game,” he said. “We were a little silent on the field against Priest River last week.”

He said it was great to see the boys play their style of game.

"We dug ourselves an early hole by conceding four early goals," Priest River High head coach Ryan Carruth said. "That's always going to be a very difficult hole to climb out of against a team like Bonners Ferry. It was good to see a positive response at halftime and a more competitive second half. Hopefully, our guys learned a tough lesson about the importance of starting on the front foot and competing from the first whistle to the last."
