THOMPSON FALLS — Ethan Cowell led the Badgers and shaved off 36 seconds off his personal record, with a time of 18:40.06 at the Thompson Falls Invite on Saturday, Sept. 21.

This was the first time the Badgers had faced the course at Thompson Falls and seven Badgers earned a new PR.

Sydney Beckle led the Badgers girls and finished in 13th out of 86 runners.

“While many of our runners are still recovering from a cold, we had seven runners improve their personal record,” Bonners Ferry cross country coach Lyndsay Hart said.

Matthew McCabe and Adam Copen both shaved about 20 seconds off their times.

Kylie Calderone also took over 30 seconds off, while Gia Roemer improved by 10 seconds.

Abby Huggins and Cheyenne Schutte both took about a minute off their times to round out the PR crew.

“We are now focused on building our endurance and picking up our pace,” Hart said.

The Badgers will race at Priest River on Saturday and are then off to Kellogg on Thursday, Oct. 3
