BTAA launches TLC program fundraiser
Better Together Animal Alliance is fundraising to support its Temporary Loving Care program.
The goal is to raise $5,000 to provide emergency short-term boarding for pets, helping families navigate unexpected hardships without the heartbreaking choice of surrendering their beloved companions.
The TLC program ensures that pets receive loving care while their owners address medical emergencies, housing instability, or other sudden life events. It’s a lifeline for families in crisis — offering peace of mind that their pets are safe and cared for until they can be reunited.
Larry, a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy in Coeur d'Alene, recently found comfort in BTAA’s TLC program. His puppy, Pinto, adopted from BTAA, has been a source of strength and joy during his health journey. When Larry needed to stay in Coeur d'Alene for a week for treatment, BTAA welcomed Pinto with open arms.
“Knowing Pinto was waiting for me got me through it,” Larry shared.
Another touching story comes from Robert, a BTAA adopter who faced emergency surgery with no one to care for his dog, Max. Thanks to the TLC program, Max was boarded at BTAA until Robert was discharged from the hospital. With another surgery ahead, Robert finds comfort in knowing BTAA will once again be there for Max.
BTAA aims to raise $5,000 to continue offering this vital service. Every dollar goes directly toward covering boarding costs, care, food, and other necessities for pets in the TLC program.
“We believe that no family should have to choose between their pet and their own well-being,” Mandy Evans, BTAA executive director, said. “The TLC program is about keeping families together through life’s toughest moments.”
Community residents can support the program through donations — big or small. All contributions are important and help BTAA reach its goals, animal alliance officials said.
