Adam Hall, Utah Valley University Head Wrestling Coach

A 2006 Bonners Ferry High graduate, Adam recently coached Terrell Barraclough of Kaysville, Utah, to All-American status, making him the just the sixth wrestler in Wolverine history to accomplish such a feat. Wrestling at 165 pounds, the former four-year Pennsylvania State University standout finished fifth at the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships held Sunday, March 20, through Tuesday, March 22, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Hall said in a press release by the Utah Valley Sports Information Department that Barraclough's finish is proof that wrestlers can win at a small school.

'We built our schedule for him (Terrell) to win in March, and our staff worked tirelessly to prepare him for every situation he would face," coach Hall said in the press release. "Terrell trusted the process all year, which paid off for him this weekend. He will forever be cemented in our program's history, and we're so proud of him. Go Wolverines!"

Barraclough, who held a 32-4 record on the season and a 4.0 grade point average while pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree, was also named the Big 12 Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, which is voted on by the conference's coaches. In addition, Barraclough and four other Wolverines received 2025 NCAA D1 Men's Scholar All-American Awards presented by the National Wrestling Coaches Association for the first time in their careers. To qualify, individuals must be in the top eight in their weight class with a 3.00 GPA, a national qualifier and hold a 3.2 GPA, a conference qualifier and hold a 3.5 GPA, or have at least 15 matches with a 60%-win record with a 3.5 GPA.

51 Utah Valley wrestlers have received such an award all-time. Hall and the Utah Valley wrestling program strongly emphasize classroom development. The team finished the 2024 fall semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.50, the highest term GPA in the program since 2009.
