100 Years Ago 

Bonners Ferry is in line for a radio broadcasting station. This was made known at the meeting of the Kootenai Commercial Club Monday night. Wm. Fredericks, of The Music Shoppe announced he was in communication with a radio expert who was desirous of locating in this section. 

A new record was set last Friday for attendance at the Patrons' Day exercise at the Bonners Ferry schools and all fortunate enough to be able to attend were pleased with the efforts made to entertain and to place them in closer touch with the work of the schools. 

B.B. Bowman, who is operating a small lumber camp near Meadow Creek, was struck by a rolling log Saturday afternoon and suffered a broken pelvis and fractured shoulder blade. 


50 Years Ago 

American Legion Post 55, founded in 1919, will hold its annual birthday party Friday. 

Annual senior class play "You're Only Young Once," under the direction of Lee Davis, is scheduled to be held Friday and Saturday. 

The County was notified of a reprieve in adoption of the state building code law. 

A frozen cake was stolen from Mt. Hall School. 

The Bonners Ferry Boxing Club grabbed three victories in Yakima at the Inland Empire Junior- Senior tournament.

A family dog saved his owner from a house fire. 

Friends of Caring People for Animals and Pets will hold a fashion show to raise money. 

Phoenix Project allows teens to interact in a positive environment. 

JV softball teams loses two to Lakeland. 

Sharon's County Store has expanded. 

Ten NIC students, including Kevin Harriman from Bonners Ferry, participated in an "Alternative Spring Break" to build a Habitat for Humanity house in Oregon.
