Kevin Paul Breneman, 60

| February 6, 2025 1:00 AM

Kevin Paul Breneman, 60, of Ponderay, Idaho, passed away on January 30, 2025, after a nearly two-year battle with cancer. He died in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Kevin was born September 17, 1964, in Abington, Pennsylvania, the son of John and Lois (Scott) Breneman.

Kevin graduated from high school in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, in 1983, then went on to Penn State University, earning his bachelor's degree and later his master’s degree in aerospace engineering.

Kevin married Kristina Marie Himes on November 7, 1992, at SAYSF Bible Church in Lexington Park, Maryland. Together, they had four biological children and adopted two more into their family. Kris and Kevin shared 32 joyous years together prior to his death.

In 2005, Kevin and his family responded to God’s call and embarked on a journey of faith that brought them across the country from their home in Maryland to their new home in Idaho, so that Kevin could begin his career at what was then Quest Aircraft Company. Kevin worked as a flight test engineer at Quest (now Kodiak Daher) for nearly 20 years and provided invaluable skill and guidance to the team and their mission there. He will be sorely missed.

Kevin especially loved woodworking, flying in the Kodiak, boating and enjoying time at home with his family.

Kevin was a faithful member and elder at Grace Community Fellowship Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, until they moved to Ponderay in 2021, at which point he became a faithful member of Kootenai Community Church and remained so until his death.

Anyone who knew Kevin knew that he lived his entire life Coram Deo (before the face of God). He was a man of integrity, humility and kindness. He was a loving father who sacrificed much for the good of his family. It is no doubt due in part to his godly example that all of his children now walk faithfully with the Lord as well. He loved the church and gave himself wholeheartedly to its service. He loved the Lord, and is at last beholding His glory, face to face.

While Kevin is now experiencing fullness of joy in the presence of his Savior, he will be greatly missed by those who remain behind. He will leave a void in many people’s lives that no other will be able to fill.

Remaining to cherish Kevin’s memory are his spouse, Kristina; their five surviving children; three grandchildren; parents, Lois and John Breneman; sister, Carol; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Preceding Kevin in death are son, Samuel Breneman; grandparents, Rev. John and Mary Breneman and Walter and Thelma Scott.

Funeral services will be held February 4, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Kootenai Community Church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.
