100 Years Ago
Word was received here this week of the death in Seattle on January 15, of Captain Hart DePuy. He operated a boat line on the Kootenai River for years. In 1890 he married Miss Josephine Peebles, a pioneer teacher of Montana. Mrs. DePuy resided on a ranch just across the river from Bonners Ferry for many years.
Ice jams have been reported in the Kootenai River.
Fred Maas, a farmer residing near the Blume Hill, sustained a fracture of the left leg when he attempted to kick the belt of a running engine.

The Board of County Commissioners have proposed a budget of $1,328,607 for this year.
A building three miles east of Three Mile Junction owned by Louis Fayent of Chippewa Welding and Repair was destroyed by fire Saturday night.
The newly organized Community Theatre plans to present a string of three plays this year.
