Jennifer Geier, 77

| January 2, 2025 1:00 AM

Jennifer A. Geier, 77, resident of Hayden, Idaho, passed away at Schneidmiller Hospice House on November 26, 2024.

She was born to Donald and Audrey Russell on January 9, 1947, in Blairmore, Alberta, Canada. Jennifer grew up in Cranbrook, British Columbia, and attended school through the 8th grade, supporting herself working in several different industries.

Over the years, Jennifer had a couple of marriages that ended in divorce; however, they brought five wonderful children into the world. Jenny gave birth to her first daughter Shannon when she was 14. She later moved to Creston where she met her first husband Bill Neiman. Bill and Jenny had three more children, Monica, Theresa, and Jennelle. They settled in Bonners Ferry for a time. They moved to Columbia Falls.

She and Bill later divorced, and Jenny moved back to Bonners Ferry, where she met her second husband Howard Geier. Howard, Jenny, and her four children moved to Williams Lake, British Columbia, where they had a daughter together, whom they named Kelly. Three years later they moved back to Bonners and later Jenny and Howard divorced.

One of her greatest accomplishments, aside from having her children, was spending many years working at the LP Mill as a lumber grader. She was bigger than life and extremely tough having no problem keeping up with her male co-workers. After over a decade with LP, she moved to Lewiston where she established her own business cleaning houses. She was a hard worker with an infectious smile and personality. During this time, she built long-lasting relationships with her clients. When Jennifer retired, she moved back to Bonners and then to Hayden, Idaho, where she made her permanent home near her daughter Kelly.

Jenny was an avid reader and enjoyed all sorts of books. She was a very caring soul who was also a feisty spitfire not taking any guff from anyone. Jenny will be remembered as outspoken and tough as nails, yet very kind-hearted and loving. She often helped others during their darkest hours and would give anything she had to those in need. Jenny also enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Jenny is survived by her children Monica Doyle of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Theresa (Andy) Lounsbury of Florida, Jennelle DeAtley of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kelly (Erik) Machado of Hayden, Idaho; siblings Lorraine Hillman-Bergman, Corrine McMahon, Margaret Dunlop, and Val Denyes all of Canada. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Shannon Bosche, her parents, and siblings Frank Russell, Frances Russell, and infant sister Donna Russell.

A celebration of life will be planned and announced at a later date this summer to honor her with a big party including lots of good food, drink, and conversation. You may visit her online tribute at hodgefuneralhome.com.
