100 Years Ago

Mr. Stoos, at his greenhouse by the fairgrounds, is growing a larger number of carnations and cyclamens for the spring trade. He says his business in these flowers is increasing each year. 

The annual meeting and banquet of the Kootenai Valley Commercial Club at the high school Monday evening was the most successful meeting ever held by the club. 

R.M. Bick, who is the successful manager of the largest fox farms in Northern Idaho, located near Sandpoint, was in Bonners Ferry a couple of days last week with a view of establishing a fox farm in this district.

City Council okayed a budget of $310,043 for the coming year. 

Boundary County went on record opposing the wild and scenic rivers designation for the Moyie River. 

Dick Hollenbeck's Badgers won a couple more games, dawning Post Falls and Wallace, to make it a 5-1 string. 

Don Howe has been elected Secretary of the National Wheat Growers Association. 

Talbot "Tony" Shelton, 32, Vashon Island, Washington, has opened a law office in Bonners Ferry.

Boundary County icon, Paul Flinn, who wrote wildlife and historical columns for the Bonners Ferry Herald for 57 years, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23. 

Six-foot junior Aaron Moe netted 20 points on Tuesday to lead Bonners Ferry to a 54-49 win over Kellogg. 

Bonners Ferry senior, Erin Hiatt, scored 15 points and made 14 rebounds during the Lady Badgers 51-39 loss to Priest River. 

More than 60 lots north of Bonners Ferry will be up for sheriff's sale after a bank foreclosed on a developer for owing more than $2.46 million.
