Boundary Consignments owners to sell

Luke and Nancy Croll are selling Boundary Consignments after eight years of owning the family department store.

“With our children getting older now – we have teenagers – we are ready to move on to our next adventure,” Nancy said. “We're going to be staying local. We're not going anywhere.” 

The Crolls purchased the business, located on Main Street in Bonners Ferry, from Pat Lopez in 2010 when it was called Baby-Go-Round. They believe that cost-friendly clothing options – especially for children and babies – have filled a vital local need for an area with lots of large families. Since taking over the business in a prime downtown location, sales have grown by over 300 percent. 

“There's a whole new set of potential, and we're ready to pass that potential on to someone else,” Nancy said. “Our main concern with a new owner is somebody who's not afraid to work and not afraid to make a huge commitment, and somebody who is really, really community oriented.” 

The owners, who previously owned Boundary Bounce, a recreation center in the Three Mile area, said they are not in a hurry to sell Boundary Consignments because they want it to go to the right person. 

The store serves over 1,200 active consignors and thousands of local customers, as well as year-round tourists. 

Nancy said she has felt like the city has done a great job accommodating her business over the years. 

“I love to see downtown growing,” she said. “We've thought about even moving the location of the business a couple times, but downtown is a really great place to put it. We love our location, and our landlord works with us.”
