| March 13, 2025 1:00 AM

Adam Hiatt, Montana Tech University Men's Basketball Head Coach

A 1997 graduate of Bonners Ferry High, Hiatt was recently named the Frontier Conference Coach of the Year for the third straight season after leading the Orediggers to their fourth straight conference tournament and regular season titles. What is touted as the best run of success in Montana Tech Men's Basketball history, Hiatt, in his ninth season, helped the Orediggers become the first program in Frontier Conference history to win four straight conference tournament titles and the first since 1973 to win the regular season four times running. Montana Tech, which is ranked No. 21 in the NAIA, is ranked fourth in scoring defense this year, allowing just 62 points per game. Out of the 64-team national bracket, they are seeded No. 6 in the Duer Quadrant and will go head-to-head with No. 11 Southern Oregon of the Cascade Collegiate Conference on Friday, March 14 in Santa Clarita, Calif. at The MacArthur Center. The Orediggers are 5-5 all-time in NAIA National Tournament play. This year, they are the only team representing the Frontier Conference at the tournament.
