Why is fast food so expensive?
My wife went grocery shopping locally the other morning and called me just before noon and ask if she could pick me up something for lunch.
I said sure, pick me up a cheeseburger at one of our local fast food joints. Just a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and onion. No two patties of meat, bacon or anything else. No French fries, just a cheeseburger. She asked where to buy it and I told her that it made no difference as they all taste the same. She told me where she was going so I looked up the place online and checked out the cheeseburger photo from their menu. Well, when she came home, my cheeseburger had a slight resemblance of the photo of their cheeseburger on their menu. It had a small meat patty, a small slice of cheese, wilted lettuce, a mushy tomato, and a soggy slice of onion, mayonnaise and catsup.
Not my idea of something I really wanted to eat. But the big thing was this soggy, tasteless, cheeseburger was $6.99 plus tax. Are you kidding me? Is this a real fast food? KFC, where are you? At least if I go to a KFC I know I’ll be eating chicken and not some mystery meat soggy cheeseburger.
