Grace Bible Church holds 29 annual Awana Grand Prix
Saturday, March 22, huge smiles and razor-thin finishes were the order of the day when Grace Bible Church along with Springs Free Methodist Awana clubbers took time out from reciting Bible verses, playing fast-action games, and participating in Bible-based Council time lessons to race their hand-crafted pinewood creations.

Earning well-deserved participation ribbons were: Xander and Jase Pegram, Mariah, Brian and Elijah Plant, Jeriah Kink, Hans and James Wold, Lukas and Leona Wermelinger, Ember and Rio Nadeau, and Zach Hegler.

Special thanks to official Glenn Plant of Springs Free Methodist Awana, track official Matteo Frederico, Scorekeeper Miriam Frederico and video recorder Joann Velasco of GBC Awana who all did exceptional jobs in making sure this 12th year of fun and friendly rivalry ran smooth and efficiently.
Also, a special thanks to the design judges: Joann Velasco, Kris Zwinger, Bob Saboe and Kim Fields, and to the line judges: Charlie, Karen, Charis, Wyatt Frederico and Bob Saboe who hand their hands full with exceptional entries this year in both design and speed.
And finally, a special thanks to Eric Kelly, Kyle Hurd, Tiffani Beggerly, Si Thompson and Jace T., Ronny and Blake C. from Scouts troop 114 for bringing, setting up and returning home the beautiful hand-crafted Rich Carlson Memorial Track used for racing over the last 29 years.
