The Kootenai Tribe of Idahos Twin Rivers Sturgeon and Burbot Hatchery situated on 10 acres near the confluence of the Kootenai and the Moyie rivers. The 35,000-square foot hatchery opened in October 2014 and is the only facility in the world that successfully propagates and rears both burbot and white sturgeon.

BNSF, Tribe hosts hazmat training
In a collaborative effort to protect the Kootenai River in the event of a potential hazmat spill, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, BNSF contractors Whitewater Rescue Institute and Kennedy-Jenks partnered with the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho to provide critical training to Boundary County first responders on Saturday.
