This quilt, made by Mary Lou Fredrickson, is one of many to go out in the first shipment for Quilts Beyond Borders, a non-profit organization whose mission statement is “to provide quilts to children in need, especially orphans living in under-served areas of the world where the warmth of a quilt is needed at night.” A Little Comfort Quilt store has helped organize local quilters so that their handiwork can be sent all around the world, and many of these quilts were a team effort. “It’s exciting to se where your quilt goes to,” Carol Jean Hubbard says. According to Hubbard, the next shipment will go out sometime in March.
