Border Fire contained by firefighters
The Border Fire was initially reported by a local resident at 7:17 p.m. Sunday, July 23, in the vicinity of the Port Hill Cemetery. Hall Mountain responded swiftly with wildland engines and were able to stop the forward spread of the fire, which was located just south of Port Hill Loop Road. BVA and the Border Patrol also responded to provide support.
