Senator Mike Crapo took time from his busy schedule to meet with the Kootenai Valley Resource Initiative Board for lunch on Aug. 29. Discussions included: How is collaboration going for KVRI — are we making gains toward Forest Restoration; will there be continued funding for Forest Restoration work; is there potential for a budget fix to fund the Forest Service to fight wildfires without exhausting their budget for other work; what’s happening with funding for Secure Rural Schools ... which provides money to the County for Roads; and sharing the huge success of Burbot Recovery ... looking down the road to fishing for them again someday.
