Fish make up most of the osprey’s diet. He can take fish that weigh up to 4.5 pounds and 14 inches in length. As seen in the photo he flies aerodynamically with one talon on the head of the fish and the other on the tail.

Osprey: The fisherman with wings!
Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) are in a family all their own. It is the only raptor that plunges into water feet first to catch fish.
