Conservation Stewardship deadline Feb. 7
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service has extended the deadline for new enrollments in the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) for fiscal year 2014. Producers interested in participating in the program can submit applications to NRCS through Feb. 7, 2014 for fiscal year 2014 funding.

Couple's 40 to 50 cats trigger concerns
A Bonners Ferry couple, whose 400 cats were taken from their Bonner County home in 2006, are now living in Boundary County, where they are getting complaints from neighbors for having 40 to 50 cats.

Today, Thursday Aug. 22, from 5-6:30 p.m., the Northwest Power and Conservation Council will hold a public hearing in Bonners Ferry on a revision of its Columbia River Basin Fish and Wildlife Program. The hearing will be at the Best Western Plus Kootenai River Inn, 7169 Plaza Street.

BONNERS FERRY — Shawn Watt, who resides in Kalispell, but grew up and spent most of her life in Bonners Ferry, calling it her “Idahome,” suffered a barn fire about ten years ago. “The barn and contents were a complete loss,” said Watt.
New pastor joins church
