BONNERS FERRY — A home located at 500 Curley Creek Road was destroyed almost entirely by fire on Feb. 1.

Nine Badger wrestlers are headed to state
RATHDRUM — The Bonners Ferry wrestling squad shined at the 3A district tournament that took place at Lakeland High School last Saturday, Feb. 18. The team, which has struggled to score well in the past few weeks, finished in third place overall.
Youth spring wrestling league to begin next week
BONNERS FERRY — The Bonners Ferry Wrestling Club (BFWC) reminds young wrestlers that the youth spring wrestling league will begin in March.
Harold George Vandenberg
Harold George Vandenberg, 70, died Feb. 8, in New Albany, Ill. Born August 17, 1946 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Marvin and Irene (Schuon) Vandenberg, Sr. A complete obituary listing memorial service information will be published at a later date.
KVRI looks at past restoration projects, plans for the future
BONNERS FERRY — The Kootenai Valley Resource Initiative (KVRI) convened for its monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 13. One of the highlights from Monday night’s meeting was a presentation by Forester Kevin Knauth focusing on the CFLRP program that the Forest Service and the KVRI is currently implementing.

Farm to Market Grains: your local, homegrown flour source
Flour is one of the primary staples of a well-stocked kitchen, and there are a handful of industrial mills with recognizable names that produce the majority of the flour available in the United States: Gold Medal, King Arthur and Pilsbury, to name a few. There are also, however, a few small-scale, family-run mills producing quality, whole grain flour around the country, and one of them is located right here in Boundary County less than five miles from the Canadian Border.

Hospital designated Level IV Trauma Center
BONNERS FERRY — Boundary Community Hospital has been designated as a Level IV Trauma Center by the State of Idaho. The designation for the Hospital is part of the Idaho Time Sensitive Emergency System (TSE) and is reserved for Hospitals that meet the stringent criteria established by the State as part of the statewide TSE system of care that includes three of the top five causes of death in Idaho: trauma, stroke, and heart attack. Emergency Department Director, Dr. Stu Willis with Gina Gallette, RN have been spearheading the effort at Boundary Community Hospital.
