The Boundary County Artists Association (BCAA) unvelied its latest group show, entitled “Winter”, at Mountain West Bank on Monday, Jan. 9. This display features work by Debbie Aaron, Vicki Bleile, Randee Foster, Wendy McClintock and Darrelyn Rose. Just as each snowflake is unlike every other, “Winter” comprises a variety of medium and painting styles.

This is a recipe I haven’t used in quite sometime. Seems that since I have started writing this column I have had to revisit some of my favorite recipes even if it makes too much for me to eat in one sitting. I break it up and then I have my own TV dinners. The recipe calls for half and half, but I use whole milk instead. Cuts down a bit on the calories.

I just tried this salad and really liked it. I love to try different salads and I have started to use avocados more than I have before. Avocados have several health benefits. One avocado provides the body with vitamins A, C, E, K and B6 along with potassium and healthy fat. You can serve this either in the leftover skin of the avocado after you scoop the meat out or onto a nice leaf of buttercrunch lettuce.

BFHS Wrestlers place at Riverside Classic

Bonners Ferry High School’s varsity wrestling squad traveled to Chattaroy, Wash. over the weekend to compete with a number of area schools in the Riverside Classic. While a few of Bonners Ferry’s wrestlers had the flu and were unable to compete, eight of them made the bus, and four of those eight placed in the top three of their respective weight classes.
