Visiting Idahoans join in the fun during this year's Christmas bird count
On Wednesday, Dec. 28, 12 birders, some from as far away as Boise, wandered a 7 ½ mile radius from downtown Bonners Ferry to join in the 117th Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Their goal was to count as many birds as they could see or hear within the given area.

Looking back on Boundary County in 1916
2016 will soon become memories for the history books. I cannot help but harken back 100 years ago and recall some of the events that took place in Boundary County. We became Boundary County in 1915 and 1916 was our first complete year to function on our own.
Always learning

Happy Holidays from BFHS
Warm Holiday Greetings from Bonners Ferry High School. I would like to take this opportunity to reflect and share. Any position in education comes with its own unique amount of adversity, and my position as Principal at BFHS is no different. However, I can’t quantify the amount of support, feedback, and concern I have been given from this community in a respectful and appropriate manner. My hat is off to the students, teachers, parents, and community members for trusting me to hear them and being patient enough to allow me to “get it right.” We have made some improvements to the security of our building with some serious support from our Superintendent, Gary Pflueger, and our School Board Trustees.

Bonners Ferry rallies to upset Sandpoint
On Friday night, Dec. 16, the Badgers put an end to a losing streak spanning at least eight years when they came from behind to beat Sandpoint at home 66-57. It was a glorious upset, especially for Badger fans in the stands who have shown up to support the team during the annual Moose Madness rivalry game year after year, only to watch the Bulldogs win eight in a row.

Santa to visit Schweitzer
