Registration Open for Baseball and Softball
Spring is nearly upon us — a time to enjoy the sun and warmer weather. With it comes spring and summer activities for local kids. Boundary County Parks and Rec is a big part of that, and now is the time to get your kids signed up for baseball and softball. Parents are encouraged to volunteer as well.

The Idaho National Guard announced the preliminary results of the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center’s investigation into the Feb. 2 UH-60 Black Hawk mishap that resulted in the death of three Idaho Army National Guard aviators.

Fulcher Introduces Amendment to PRO Act
Congressman Russ Fulcher submitted an amendment to H.R. 842, the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. Currently, union elections can be delayed due to lawsuits, and those frivolous lawsuits keep dangerous union bosses in business. Congressman Fulcher’s amendment would require an election for union leadership to occur as scheduled, regardless of a union’s attempts to delay it with a lawsuit. Congressman Fulcher spoke on the House floor this afternoon in opposition to the overall bill.

Preschool Development Grant Set to Help Areas Like Boundary County
The Idaho Association for the Education of Young Childrenhas released the results of a Idaho Preschool Development Grant Birth-Age 5 Needs Assessment. The assessment is designed to help Idaho policymakers, administrators and stakeholders understand early learning needs for families and children in Idaho. The AEYC also announced the renewal of the federal PDG totalling $6 million per year for the next three years, which will be used to help address some of those challenges.

Beverly Jane Eby, 86, of Moyie Springs, Idaho, previously of Libby, Montana, passed away on Feb. 22, 2021, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
