BCSD's April Certified Employee of the Month
Laura Nishek is Boundary County School District’s April Certified Employee of the Month. Anyone who has had the privilege of working with Mrs. Nishek, can speak to the professionalism and dedication she brings to her students and classroom. Currently, Mrs. Nishek teaches 4th grade at Mt Hall Elementary, but she hasn’t always taught 4th grade. In fact, Mrs. Nishek started at the high school where she taught Early Childhood Development and then spent a few years teaching at the middle school. When a position came open at Mt Hall, Mrs. Nishek thought she’d try her hand at teaching elementary students. Next year, Mrs. Nishek is taking on another teaching adventure and will be teaching kindergarten at Mt Hall.

Assault, violence at the Moyie Mud Bog; bi-annual problem
I know I can count on two things every Mother’s Day weekend each year in Boundary County. First, that my husband will spoil me with love and my children will give me beautiful homemade cards from art class and shower me with tulips and lilacs (so carefully looted out of my very own flower beds.) Second, that a person, or persons will be a victim of violence or sexual assault while attending the bi-annual Moyie Mud Bog. The truly disturbing thing is this is not an isolated incident with a singular victim.
God’s plan should be followed, not man’s plan
God’s ways are better than our ways. From the beginning, God created one man and one woman and commanded them to be fruitful and multiple and fill the earth. Abraham was promised that His seed would be like the sand on the seashore. When God’s people were in Egypt they continued to obey this command to be fruitful and multiple.

NOTICE INVITING BIDS OWNER: Boundary County 6452 Kootenai Street Bonners Ferry, Idaho 83805 Separate sealed BIDS for the: Boundary County Airport Snow Removal Equipment Building FAA/AIP Project No. 3-16-0004-016-2019 Will be received by Owner at the office of the Boundary County Board of Commissioners, 6452 Kootenai Street, Bonners Ferry, Idaho until 2:00 p.m., Monday April 20, 2020. Mailed bids shall be submitted to P.O. Box 419, Bonners Ferry, Idaho 83805. Bids will be publicly opened in and read aloud. It shall be the duty of each Bidder to submit his/her bid on or before the hour and date specified. Work associated with proposed improvements are generally described as follows: Snow removal equipment building consists of all elements necessary to construct a pre-engineered wood frame or metal building for storage of the airport's snow removal equipment. Other items include associated excavation, embankment, site grading, concrete approach, electrical, mechanical and site work for building construction. Notice of Requirement for Affirmative Action to ensure Equal Employment Opportunity: 1. The Offeror's or Bidder's attention is called to the "Equal Opportunity Clause" and the "Standard Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Construction Contract Specifications" set forth herein. 2. Student's comments lead to graduation suspension
A student at Kellogg High School isn’t being allowed to participate in his graduation ceremony as a result of comments that were made during a recent assembly. The assembly was a way for senior students to impart words of wisdom to the underclassmen of KHS – the statement that was made by 18-year-old Travis Lohr was one that raised a few eyebrows.
