U.S. 95 changes to be discussed tonight
COEUR d’ALENE — The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) invites the public to an open house on Thursday, Dec. 14 to learn about a project to improve safety on U.S. 95 through Bonners Ferry.
Tractor Supply conditional use permit hearing to be redone
Boundary County commissioners will redo a public hearing to consider the conditional use permit for the proposed site of the coming Tractor Supply Co. store. The hearing will be held April 4 at 4:30 p.m. in order to remedy issues raised by a public appeal regarding adequate public notice for the application.

What is all the gobbling about?
BONNERS FERRY — Last week I woke up to a familiar wildlife sound just 50 feet from our house at the edge of the pine trees. I hurried to look out the window to see what the ruckus was about and saw an amazing sight. Two tom turkeys were gobbling their heads off and strutting around in a tight circle trying to attract the attention of two nearby turkey hens.

BONNERS FERRY — “Life is a Highway.” This was the theme for this year’s Distinguished Young Women competition, and the audience was transported across the country on Route 66 as it wove through the whole show, culminating in Katie Summerfield being named the 2019-2020 Distinguished Young Woman.
