4 wrestlers compete at Tri-State

Four Badger wrestlers competed at the Tri-State wrestling tournament on Dec. 20 and 21. Matt Tucker scored seven points for the team and Parker Davis and Jonathan Gaspar both added four points.

Badgers lose IML opener to Spartans

The Badger baseball team dropped its IML season opener to the Priest River Spartans 6-3 Tuesday, April 9.

Middle school preregistration dates set

Preregistration for students in grades six through eight who will be attending Boundary County Middle School will be Monday, Aug. 30, and Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Eat Spaghetti and Help Cure Cancer

People have the opportunity to get full bellies and do a good deed by attending the American Cancer Society’s annual spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, at the popular Chic-N-Chop restaurant.

Girls place second at state track meet

Bonners Ferry High School senior Samantha Hiatt defended her state title in the pole vault and placed in two additional events to lead the Lady Badgers to a second-place finish at the 3A state track meet.

Badger boys' soccer claims IML title

The Bonners Ferry boys’ soccer team earned the Intermountain League season title with a pair of convincing wins last weekend.

5-year-old Naples girl rides 60K

With a little help from mom, 5-year-old Elisa Balcaen rode the 60K — 37.2 miles — in Saturday’s Kootenai River Ride.

Helen heritage got high scratch game 182, high scratch series 484, second high handicap game 248 and second high handicap series 682. Melayne Stevens got second high scratch game 181, second high scratch series 473, third high handicap series 245 and third high handicap series 665. Donna Kent got third high scratch game 178, third high scratch series 461, high handicap game 264 and high handicap series 719.

BONNERS FERRY--The festivities on the 4th of July launched the start of 2016’s Kootenai River Days.

Helen Heritage got second high scratch game 162, third high scratch series 414 and third high handicap game 224. Jeanne Osborn got third high scratch game 157. Carolyn McNeill got second high scratch series 420. Nancy Furtado got second high handicap game 239. Evelyn Smith got second high handicap series 611. Regina Colby got third high handicap series 608.

Summer food program available in several locations

Boundary County School District is participating in the summer food service program.

The local Tuesday’s Trouble league has wrapped up 21 weeks of bowling.

Local student photographers honored in Arbor Day contest

BOISE, Idaho (April 25, 2016) – Students in grades 5 through 12 from throughout Idaho participated in the sixth annual “Look to the Forest” Arbor Day photo contest sponsored by the Idaho Forest Products Commission. Two hundred and thirty photographs were submitted for consideration in the contest, which asked students to portray what they see when they “look to the forest.”
