95 Fallen Firefighters to Be Honored at National Memorial and Boundary County

The U.S. Fire Service will pay tribute to the lives of 75 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2016 and 20 firefighters who died in previous years during the 36th National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service on Sunday, October 8, 2017. A local memorial ceremony will also be held on that day at 2 p.m. at the main City Fire Station in downtown Bonners Ferry.

Bells could be heard ringing throughout the city of Bonners Ferry on Sunday, as Boundary County firefighters and EMS personnel gathered at the Bonners Ferry Fire Department Station 1 to pay tribute to 112 firefighters that lost their lives in the line of duty last year.

The end of the 3rd Quarter of the 2016-2017 school year is upon us, and BFHS students and staff will be working hard to finish strong. I know it is not safe to say this, so you can all blame me when it snows again, but we made it through winter. We all rallied as a community to dig out, and our efforts are paying off.
