Girls track team wins Timberlake Invitational, boys take eighth place
Bonners Ferry senior Samantha Hiatt led the girls track team to a first-place victory during the Timberlake Invitational on Friday by winning the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.46 and taking second in the 300-meter hurdles with 48.88.

Mirror Lake Ladies' Golf Report
For closing day, Oct. 2, the Mirror Lake Ladies game of the day was the “Impossible Open.” In this game, players follow a special road map of challenging tee boxes and pin placements devilishly devised by Manager and Chief Pro Ralph Lotspeich and his grounds crew to set up, ensnare and defeat the most icy veined competitor.

Badgers win first league game, drop one to Timberlake
The Bonners Ferry varsity boys basketball team busted out of a slump in a big way last Thursday, Feb. 2, beating Coeur d’Alene Charter at home 80-40. The blowout victory—their first league win of the season — was just what the doctor ordered as the ailing Badgers had dropped the previous 5 games they played in.

Badgers lose to state-ranked foes
The Bonners Ferry boys’ basketball team hosted one of the state’s top 4A teams, then traveled to the defending 1A Division II champions last week as the Badgers faced several tough nonconference opponents.

Fallen firefighters honored
BONNERS FERRY — “On the behalf of the firefighters standing here today — and to those who have lost their lives — I want to thank you for coming here today and never letting them be forgotten,” said Boundary County Chaplain Corps Chaplain Dave Lotze to the people who gathered at the Bonners Ferry Fire Department on Sunday, Oct. 6, for the 2019 National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend Observance.
