Man drowns in Moyie River
BONNERS FERRY — U.S. Border Patrol pulled a male subject from the Moyie River in Eastport around 5:15 p.m. on May 22, according to Boundary County Sheriff Chief Deputy Richard Stephens. It was the second drowning in the river in two weeks.

BONNERS FERRY — In the wake of snow and ice storms, Boundary County and the City of Bonners Ferry declared a state of emergency for the second time this winter after torrential rains rapidly melted accumulated snow banks across the county creating floods and subsequent mudslides.

Looking back on Boundary County in 1916
2016 will soon become memories for the history books. I cannot help but harken back 100 years ago and recall some of the events that took place in Boundary County. We became Boundary County in 1915 and 1916 was our first complete year to function on our own.
