In April 1923, plans were being made to build a one story addition adjoining the First National Bank on the north. With the addition, members of the Bonners Ferry Masonic lodge were interested in the plan to construct a second story for lodge quarters.

Motorcycle rally riding into town
The first-ever 2 The Border Motorcycle Rally, an all-rider event to Jake’s Landing at Porthill is coming at the end of July. For three days, July 28 to July 30 motorcyclists will be meeting up at the northern border to camp, meet up and ride.

High school grandstand demolished with help from alumni
After several decades of use, the bleachers and grandstands at Mendenhall Stadium on the Bonners Ferry High School and Boundary County Middle School campus have been demolished.

Containment nears on Bee Top Fire
Additional resources diverted to Consalus Fire
With containment of the Bee Top Fire approaching 90%, control of the fire is being returned to Idaho Panhandle National Forests officials. Over on the Consalus Fire, the lightning-caused blaze inched upward to 444 acres and some of the resources from the Bee Top are being diverted to the Pend Oreille County fire.

Pair: Recall about politics, not kids
An upcoming recall is a partisan attempt to oust conservative politicians from office, according to pair of West Bonner County School District board trustees. The comments are part of written rebuttals submitted to the county clerk's office by WBCSD board chairman Keith Rutledge and vice chair Susan Brown as they prepare for an Aug. 29 recall election. Residents in western Bonner County launched the recall drive in mid-June, following increasingly contentious board meetings after the board mulled selling Priest River Middle School and Branden Durst, a former policy analyst with the Idaho Freedom Foundation, was announced as a superintendent finalist.
