Honoring those who gave all
BONNERS FERRY — Firefighters and spectators gathered at the Bonners Ferry Fire Department on Sunday, Oct. 7, for the 2018 National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend Observance. The memorial began with a parade of Boundary County firefighting apparatus starting at Super 1 Foods and finished at the Bonners Ferry Fire Department.

BONNERS FERRY — On Oct. 4, the Badger boys soccer team played a home game against St. George’s School.

Mirror Lake Ladies Golf hosts awards dinner
The Mirror Lake Ladies Golf Association celebrated the closing of their 2018 season with a “Diamonds and Denim” wind-up dinner Wednesday evening, Oct. 3, at the Mirror Lake Golf Club. The evening provided the occasion for socializing, fun, and a great dinner courtesy of Manager Ralph Lotspeich and his staff, and the award of the year-end prizes to this season’s stand out lady golfers!

Badger runners picking up the pace
BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers cross country teams ran a fairly flat 5K course at Priest River High School on Sept. 20. There was a medium sized hill and a rough field section, as well.

Fallen firefighters to be honored
Firefighters across the nation face tremendous hazards in the performance of their duties. Sometimes those hazards result in death. Once a year, on the first Sunday in October, the nation remembers those men and women who died in the line of duty. The national ceremony is held in Maryland, but here in Bonners Ferry we have our own remembrance which follows the general content of the national observance.

Boys soccer tops Timberlake
BONNERS FERRY — The Badger boys varsity soccer team played against Timberlake on Sept. 25, winning the match 2-1.

BFHS volleyball defeats Kellogg
BONNERS FERRY — The Badger volleyball ladies played an away game against Kellogg on Sept. 27. Allie Weerts brought in 12 assists, Victoria Rae finished with 10 kills and 1 ace, Leilani Ram came home with 14 digs, and Jerzie Pluid had 4 blocks.

Mirror Lake Ladies' Golf Association Weekly Report
The week of September 25 and 26 sadly, was the last golf week of the Mirror Lake Ladies’ 2018 Season, which happily, turned into a beautiful evening and day. Game of the Day was “Ace of Aces” which revealed the Season’s top “Aces” out of all the 2018 “Aces of the Month.”

Man faces felony domestic battery charges
BONNERS FERRY — A man who allegedly beat a woman on Sept. 2 will have a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, and will be facing felony charges for domestic battery with traumatic injury.

Badger volleyball tops Cd'A Charter
BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers volleyball team rallied for a five-set win over visiting Coeur d’Alene Charter on Sept. 18, topping the Panthers 22-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-9.

Badgers break through for football win
BONNERS FERRY — An improved running attack helped the Bonners Ferry football team earn its first victory of the season, as the Badgers topped visiting Thompson Falls, Mont., for a 33-12 victory on Friday, Sept. 14.

Badger swimmers compete in Moscow
MOSCOW — Bonners Ferry High School swimmers Julia Cummings and Seamus Newcomb competed in the Sept. 15 swim meet at the University of Idaho pool.
