Mt. Hall Elementary Newsletter

School is officially in session! It seems like it was just last week when I was wishing everyone a safe and happy summer, and now I’m welcoming students back to school. To say this is an exciting time of year is an understatement. I have had the great privilege of spending the summer with some dedicated teachers gearing up for a successful 2018-19 school year. There was hardly a day that Mt. Hall Elementary wasn’t graced with the presence of one of these dedicated individuals.

Western conifer seed bugs … bug off!

The western conifer seed bug with its long legs and an antenna has tried to invade many of our homes this fall. I found a dozen or so of these slow-crawling bugs last week trying to access our house. I even had one land on my cap and try for a free ride into the house. But I know they are not trying to be a nuisance — they are just looking for a place to spend the winter where it is nice and warm.

Cross country putting its best foot forward

BONNERS FERRY — Badger Cross Country was at Kiwanis Park on Thursday, Aug. 30, for the Post Falls Invite. This course was sort of unique in that it was 2.8 miles instead of the standard 3.11 miles. The reason for this was the venue, Kiwanis Park, is not very large and historically has been quite confusing. Post Falls HS attempted to simplify the course at the expense of some distance.
