Enjoying the sight, sounds of the American goldfinch
We are fortunate this summer that a pair of American goldfinch have found comfort with our finch feeder and our garden.

Bear grass blooms underway!
Last week when I was on the south side of Queen and Wall Mountain I saw some interesting, grass-like plants. I had noticed it throughout the years growing on slopes in soil that’s not particularly rich that are moist during winter and spring, but fast draining.

A blazing good time
BONNERS FERRY — A large crowd gathered to cheer on the firefighters in the seventh annual Firefighter Competition and Demonstration at noon on the Fourth of July. With Main Street blocked off in front of Mugsy’s Tavern and Grill, the firefighters meticulously laid out a series of hoses, stemming from a fire engine.

BONNERS FERRY — A Boundary County man has been charged with felony aggravated assault after police say he entered a Bonners Ferry home on June 22 and attempted to attack one of the family members with an ax.

Yoder's Market gets fresh produce stands
BONNERS FERRY — Yoder’s Fresh Market has continued to expand both with the store and with the community. Every Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. outside the building, they are hosting vendors selling locally grown produce as well as homegrown and homemade items, such as jams and dried flowers.

BONNERS FERRY — The air at the Boundary County Fairgrounds was filled with the smells of exhaust and tantalizing food as well as the buzzing sound of dirtbikes and the din of conversation from the packed stadium.

Adam Hall to coach at 2018 U23 World Championships
His goal was to wrestle on a World Championship team. When former Badger and Boise State University 2X All-American Adam Hall made the USA Wrestling University World Team in 2016, he thought his dreams had come true. However, when violence erupted in Turkey, the U.S. State Department canceled the trip, and Hall was never able to compete.
