BCSA hosting logo contest and music showcase
Boundary County Skatepark Alliance would like to thank all who helped to make our inaugural event, at the Bonners Ferry Skatepark, “Go Skateboarding Day skate jam a big hit” as it was reported on June 23 in the Bonners Ferry Herald.
“The community response was inspiring and just the fuel we needed to start this project,” BCSA officials wrote in a press release.
BCSA is hosting a logo concept contest. The contest is open to everyone and anyone who wants to help BCSA create a logo that represents the goals and values of BCSA, and our community. We’re not looking for the finished logo, but for a local artist to bring us the best concept. We will then work with them to help design and prepare a finished logo, that we will all be proud of, and in the process maybe help the artist grow in their craft.
All entries must include the group’s name, Boundary County Skatepark Alliance. No vulgar or offensive language or symbolism is allowed, alliance officials said. All entries need to appeal to the larger community and entries must align with the values of the community and the alliance’s goal of developing a family friendly skatepark. Original artwork only will be accepted.
The winner will also receive a hoodie bearing the new logo.
Entries to the logo contest are due July 15. Entries can be dropped at the Parks and Rec office or emailed to pam1160@hotmail.com. There is no entry form, BCSA just needs the image and entrant’s contact information.
Entries will be displayed at the skate and music showcase on July 16. Everyone in attendance will have the chance to vote. The winner will be announced at the end of the event. Winner does not need to be present to win.
The Bonners Ferry Skate and Music Showcase is scheduled for June 16 from 4-7 p.m.
The event will include free live music by King Friday and a skate jam hosted by Yousta. There will also be food, raffles, prizes and the opportunity to vote on the logo for the Boundary County Skatepark Alliance.
The community and local skaters are invited to come support the local skatepark and enjoy a dose of free family fun.
“So please come out and support your local Skatepark, we are looking for fun and enthusiasm, and of course donations are always welcome,” officials wrote in a press release.
