Partners sought for summer lunch program
While the calendar reminds us that we’re in the heart of winter, the warmth of summer will be upon us before we know it. For many of us, that means backyard cookouts and fresh produce from the garden. But for some Idaho children, summers can mean a lack of food. When they’re dismissed from class on the last day of school, students lose access to regular lunchroom meals. In some cases, these school-day vitamins and nutrients are their most reliable source of nutrition.

State lawmakers advanced a bill Tuesday that seeks to protect public access to Idaho’s lands and waters if a local government decides to vacate a roadway. If a public right-of-way provides access to state lands or waters, Senate Bill 1258 would require counties and highway districts to obtain equivalent replacement access for the public before deciding to vacate it.

Traditionally there always seems to be a winter thaw in January and this year did not disappoint. Temperatures rose to the high 30s. Sunday, January 28, 2024, was a foggy day to go shooting. Overall, there were only 23 shooters that came out to shoot.

Remember, educate and celebrate Black History Month
Imagine millions of people stolen from their homes and sent to a foreign land, hundreds at a time shackled tightly together naked in chains, unable to move in the bottom of ships sailing across the ocean. Those still alive when they reached their destination were taken to auction and sold like cattle.
