The May 21 Primary will see some changes in electioneering on election day, since a new bill has increased the distance from 100 feet to 250 feet within a polling place or any building where an election is being held.

The Kootenai Valley Rifle Club hosted the Idaho State Junior Olympic Rifle Championship in Bonners Ferry Jan. 18. 19 shooters from the Bonners Ferry (KV), Sandpoint, and Coeur d’Alene (CdA) clubs along with Little Explorers 4H from Boise and the AJROTC from Walla Walla, Wash. high school were represented.

The city has extended its emergency declaration for another 60 days due, saying more time was needed to repair the waterline, which caused a landslide on March 23. An emergency declaration expires after 60 days, and so a second declaration was necessary.
