75 participants flock to track and field

Seventy-five athletes have come out for track and field. Bonners Ferry head coach Travis Hinthorn said he doesn’t expect all seventy-five participants to stay for the whole season, but many participants show promise and are qualified athletes.

Golf returns to the fairway, girls state champs, boys district champs

A bill that would place restrictions on who could apply for an absentee ballot in Idaho was sent out for possible amendments Wednesday after members of the public and several state and county elections officials came out against the bill. STATE 3A BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP: At last — Bonners Ferry captures first state boys basketball title

“It’s unbelievable,” said Badger senior Trey Bateman, Thomas’ cousin. “We fought; we’ve earned it, we’ve done everything we can as a basketball team. Mr. Williams (Nathan, the Bonners coach) has helped us so much throughout life and basketball. My brothers (Brady and Seth) won a state championship in baseball in 2018, and that was so huge for our community, and it showed. We are unbelievably grateful and blessed to have this state championship here.”

Junior Asher Williams, the reigning state 3A Player of the Year, notched his second straight 30-point night, leading the second-seeded Badgers past the sixth-seeded Eagles in a semifinal game, advancing to the title game for the second straight year.
