Search and rescue dog, Zuko, home and recovering after critical surgery
Zuko, a local search and rescue dog, is on the road to recovery after a successful surgery. The K-9 underwent a thoracotomy procedure on Feb. 7, after a grass seed made its way into his lungs, causing a serious infection. Zuko is expected to be able to return to working light duty in a month.

This is just a reminder from the Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce, that Kootenai River Days-2017, from July 4-8, is coming up and this year’s event should be especially exciting with events from the Bull Bash, to Comedians at the Kootenai River Inn, the Rotary Wine Walk and a Street Fair in downtown Bonners Ferry with vendors, arts, crafts, FREE bouncy castles and musicians, including special guest the Tru North Band, hitting the stage Saturday night, after the Bull Bash, at 8:30 p.m. on Bonner Street in downtown Bonners Ferry.
