Entrepreneurship is so 2020
“How do you actually make money?” a bewildered employee asked me after a brief discussion about overhead and cost-of-goods-sold. This young teenager had never seen a profit and loss sheet, much less had to live and budget by one.
December news: An update from Valley View Elementary School
While I was a teenager I remember my mother telling me that the older you get the faster the years will pass by. Tanagers finds home among Idaho's trees
Several weeks ago I was on the west side of the Kootenai Wildlife Refuge by Myrtle Creek when I noticed a brightly colored bird about 6-7 inches long, with a brilliant red head, bright yellow body, black back, wings and tail. I quickly reviewed my Birds of Idaho field guide to identify this beautiful bird. The guide confirmed it was a male Western Tanager. The female is duller in color than the male, lacking the red head. The juvenile is similar to the female.

Your 6-year-old daughter slips and slices into her tummy while “playing mommy” cutting a zucchini … there’s a lot of blood and she’s barely breathing. What panic just the thought of these cause parents. What fret for friends and relatives. And then, “Where did I put the cellphone so I can call 911?”

No room for differences on Memorial Day
The last Monday in May has been established by Congress as Memorial Day, the day to remember, honor and mourn the Americans who have died in the country’s wars. We should all put aside our differences on May 27 to thank those who gave their last full measure to protect America’s “government of the people, by the people and for the people” as President Abraham Lincoln described it.
