Governor says Idaho should prioritize transportation funding
Idaho Gov. Brad Little put forth a 10-year, $2 billion plan to address Idaho’s aging, crumbling public school buildings during his State of the State address Monday at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise.
Larry A. Hoglan, 78
Larry A. Hoglan, 78, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2009, at the Boundary Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry. Private interment was at Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry.

The Certified Nursing Assistant program was offered to Bonners Ferry High School students by Boundary Community Hospital in affiliation with North Idaho College.
Senior Center temporarily cancels Congregate meals
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Seniors Hospitality Center will be closed to the Congregate Nutrition Services Program meals until April 10. The meals normally take place at noon every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce meets about Kootenai River Days
BONNERS FERRY — The Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce came together Feb. 8 at Mugsy’s Tavern and Grill to discuss the plans for this summer’s upcoming Kootenai River Days. Members discussed the events, from the Bull Bash to entertainers, that are to be held over the week, as community members continue to add ideas with each discussion. There is talk about having a wild game cookoff and a business display competition, which will not only allow community and business members to showcase their talents, but attendees will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite business displays.
Bonners Ferry High School Students go to state
Bonners Ferry High School students Nick Dugger, Zach Hammond, Jared Lynse, Brandon Neuman and Arthur Putnam will be attending the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference on March 11 through 13 at Boise State University.

I support Gary Suppiger for the position of District 1 representative. I have know Gary and his family for many years, as his children attended Sagle Elementary School while I was the principal there. I cannot think of a finer or more qualified person than Gary Suppiger for this position.
Upcoming events at the Pearl
The Pearl Theater has always been the venue to see concerts and plays in Bonners Ferry, but that isn’t all you can find there. The theater is expanding programs to include a wider variety of events. Events include groups, workshops, a drum circle, karaoke, and much more.

New year, healthy habits
BONNERS FERRY — The students at Bonners Ferry High School came back from winter break and participated in an event that the Idaho Drug Free Youth (IDFY) and i2i program brought to the school. Each class participated as a whole in a three-hour session of what was not only team building exercises, but exercises that encouraged the classmates to communicate.

Mt Hall student: Keep recycling
A little girl with a big idea, 9-year-old Morgan Lewis would like Mount Hall Elementary students to keep up a recycling program she started called the Drink Pouch Brigade.

BONNERS FERRY — Bonners Ferry High School senior, Victoria Rae, two-time Idaho State Champion in track and field, has signed with the University of Idaho and will be joining their track and field program.
