Bonners Ferry Lacrosse Club to Scrimmage Sandpoint
The Bonners Ferry Lacrosse Club will scrimmage the Sandpoint Lacrosse Club on March 23 at 5 p.m. at the Boundary County Fairgrounds.
IHC seeks applications for grants, fellowships
The Idaho Humanities Council invites proposals for Mini and Major grants, Teacher Incentive Grants, and Research Fellowships from organizations and individuals for consideration at the Council’s fall grant round. The deadline for grant proposals is September 15, 2016. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to contact IHC staff in advance of the deadline to discuss their project ideas before drafting a proposal.
Forest Thinning & Pruning Field Day to be held in Plummer, Saturday, June 18
Trees killed by bark beetle attacks always make forest owners ask: “what can we do about it?” Whether you have problems with insects or disease, concerns about fire, or just want to help forest growth, the response from foresters is nearly universal: thin your forest. This is especially true in northern Idaho, where forests frequently become overstocked. Thinning and pruning can favor better adapted tree species, improve tree quality, reduce fire risk, improve access, and enhance many other values.
BFHS student receives scholarship
A Bonners Ferry High School student is among those named as recipients of the 2016 Governor’s Cup Scholarships to Idaho colleges and universities by Gov C.L. “Butch” Otte. The 41st Governor’s Cup fund-raising drive brought in enough money for a record 40 new scholarships to be award this year — two more than in 2015.

BONNERS FERRY - The Federal Government will be closed as current funding expired on Sept. 30, 2013. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is very much aware that any lapse in appropriations imposes hardships on those we serve. Due to this event, the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge will be closed to the public.

BONNERS FERRY — The voting results are in and the Boundary County School District 101 current Maintenance and Operation (M&O) Levy, that will expire on June 30, has passed with approximately two-thirds of the voters voting ‘yes.’
