BONNERS FERRY — All wine and beer enthusiasts should clear their palates in preparation for the upcoming Pinot, Pilsner and the Pearl ... Rock On! event Friday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m. The evening of fine food and drink is part of the local Pearl Theater's membership drive. Participants will convene at Georgia Mae Plaza downtown before wending their way to five establishments where samplings of wine, beer and restaurant fare will be flowing. Live music will rock the revelers while trivia challenges, games and fun will be on tap throughout the event.

BONNERS FERRY — The Idaho Conservation League is teaming up with Brian Johnson, Idaho Department of Fish and Game grizzly bear information and education conservation officer, and Brett Lyndaker, Idaho Panhandle National Forests wildlife biologist, to teach local residents about recreating in bear country. The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Bonners Ferry Ranger Station, located at 6286 Main St.
