The Historic Pearl Theater is a recipient of a $20,000 grant from Innovia and the Equinox Foundation. The grant will go to expanding artistic impact in Boundary County for the 2023-24 season.

Kootenai River Run sees 169 participants
169 participants crossed the finish line at the Kootenai River Run/Walk on Saturday, July 22, 2023. The event, part of the Kootenai River Days, raises funds for scholarships for Bonners Ferry High School scholar-athletes who have been active in cross country or track.

It's time for the billboard to be changed, says one of the local residents and Trump haters in last week's Herald. Well, I disagree. The correct time to remove the billboard identifying this as "Trump country" is when the owner of the sign wants it removed, not a minute before.

Porthill POE will keep expanded hours
Risch criticizes decision, calls for hours to return to pre-pandemic levels
The Porthill port of entry is among those that will keep its expanded hours after an analysis by U.S. Customs and Border Protection which had temporarily lengthened hours at six ports of entry this spring, including the Idaho POE. "After a thorough analysis of the data, CBP is announcing its decision on the permanent hours at these ports of entry," officials said in a Wednesday press release.

The Boundary County Fair will return August 8 thru 12 with the theme "Sew it, grow it, show it."

Library to create 'new adult' book section after book reconsideration
