The Bonners Ferry girls volleyball team won one out of three matches against Kellogg with the final 25-22, 14-25, 22-25, 20-25.

While the crowd of spectators was a little thinner than in years past, the 2010 Kootenai River Rodeo, the weather couldn't have been better.

Bonners Ferry High School held their track meet invitational on Saturday, March 27, 2021, which saw many eager athletes and excited parents. Badgers took hardware home with over 20 spots in the top three.

Badgers beat Priest River to open IML play
BONNERS FERRY — Saturday, Jan. 6, the Badger boys basketball team played a home game against Priest River. The boys came out on top 66-41, with Chris Sabin leading the team, scoring 21 points.

BFHS boys, Gorton win home meet
BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers cross country team had their first meet on Saturday, Aug. 25, with the air quality holding on just well enough for the runners to compete. After Libby had to cancel its meet the previous day, they joined the race at the last minute. With the crews and volunteers being flexible, they were able to accommodate both Libby and Thompson Falls in addition to the originally scheduled Priest River and Kellogg, bringing five teams together to run.

The week of September 25 and 26 sadly, was the last golf week of the Mirror Lake Ladies’ 2018 Season, which happily, turned into a beautiful evening and day. Game of the Day was “Ace of Aces” which revealed the Season’s top “Aces” out of all the 2018 “Aces of the Month.”

Seniors break the national record — again They say that some things get better with age. Well, the Kootenai Valley Rifle Team is proving that they are aging quite well. For the fourth time in four years, the team of Bill Leach, Greg Mead, Tom Daniel and Don Jordan have broken the Senior three-position team national record.

Ospreys return to area river banks
Recently I was traveling west of the Boundary County fair-grounds when a bird attracted my attention, not only because of its size but the fact he was carrying a tree branch nearly three feet long and was having a time negotiating with the branch in flight. Because of the rare sight I slowed my vehicle and watch him fly west along the Kootenai River and land on a pole holding a huge nest on top. He began to weave the dried tree branch, into the nest until secured, although it was too long the branch still hangs distinctly to one side.
